Hello Fellow North Carolina Democrats!
Why I’m Running
-
My first time canvassing to cure ballots was in 2020 as we watched then Chief Justice Cheri Beasley lose by just 401 votes. We see the impact of that loss over and over. Jim Crow 2.0 is being enacted across the South, we need courts that will uphold the rights and promises of our State Constitution. From equal voting rights to fully funded public schools to holding Duke Energy accountable, we have seen what happens when we lose the NC Supreme Court. The NCDP Judicial Caucus is key to our plan to take back the courts and protect our people. We must re-elect Justice Anita Earls in 2026 and protect our last three Democratic seats on the Court of Appeals with Judges Arrowood, Hampson, and Walcyzk.
My focus will be on supporting their fundraising efforts and helping launch Field Team Justice canvasses across the state, ensuring our county parties have the tools they need to talk directly to voters about what our judges can do to improve their lives. We will continue to grow this work and seize our moment in 2028 to take back the North Carolina Supreme Court and the North Carolina Court of Appeals.

We are contesting North Carolina General Assembly seats in every part of the state, and the state party should be visible and on the ground supporting them. Mark Burrows. Tim Merrick, LeVon Barnes. Jess Rivera. Winn Decker. April Cook. Iris Bender. These and so many others are putting in the work - they’re knocking doors, calling voters, and being our messengers out in the field. I’m excited for the work our Chair and others are doing to support our Congressional candidates, and I want to spend my time doing the same for our State House and Senate Democrats.

My work as a nonprofit Executive Director is rooted in building lasting, successful coalitions. We must work across our Counties and Districts, with our Caucuses and Auxiliaries, to empower our big tent to reach voters where they are. This includes having difficult conversations and debates, and then emerging together to fight for all North Carolinians.
From fully funded public schools, expanding Medicaid, striking workers, and human rights, I’ve been part of building coalitions across our state pushing for justice.
